Director’s Note
When a thought or message is communicated, the communicator must first assess their audience, then shape their message in such a way that their audience will be able to understand. This requires not only a strong command of a language, but also a very good understanding of what the listener is hearing/thinking when the message is received.
Our job as a language school is to help people to be equipped with the tools they need so that they can clearly communicate in the common language where they live. This means that we intentionally nurture our students, raising both their cultural awareness and language understanding together, first as new observers in a community, and later as welcome contributors who have been seasoned, raised up naturally in their Tanzanian context.
